I heard a lot about the book ‘Catch-22’ and so I got it when there was a deal going on. But honestly, I couldn’t go through with it. No idea why. May be I wasn’t in a mood to read that kind of book that time. So it went to the back of the book shelf. And ever since then I haven’t had a mind to try and read the same. It was the same case with a ‘Catcher in the Rye’ too, but at least I did manage to finish that and wondered what the big deal about the book was.
May be with age or a different time, I might change my views on these books. But for now, they are there safely tucked at the back of my bookshelf.
Post for this week’s Stream of Consciousness Saturday prompt.
Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is: “-cat-” Use the letters at the start, middle, or end of a word and make it the subject of your post – or just use the word “cat.” Enjoy!
I actually read Catcher in the Rye in my 30’s because it was not on my reading list in high school, I had Marie Curie instead but I loved that book and my son read it in high school and loved it too. Books depends on our moods too, you’re right and it maybe it’s just not your cup of tea.

🙂 Thanks Oliana. Might have to try sometime and just be sure of it.

I have a lot of books on my shelf that I may someday read. They are more likely to turn to dust before I do. That is why I love my Kindle, I don’t have to look at the dust on the books sitting on the shelf!

🙂 I have got my kindle with one too many books which are half read or yet to be read. But yeah, I agree about the dust part 😉

Never read Catcher in the Rye, but you MUST read Catch-22, it’s an amazing book. There is also a sequel (written about twenty years later) which is extremely peculiar.

I’m with you – haven’t read Catch 22 and I didn’t understand what the big deal was about Catcher in the Rye. Weird, eh?
