While we were driving back from my home town to Bangalore yesterday, my brother’s friend gave me this to snack on. I just couldn’t help laughing for a very long time. Yes, it was chocolate coated cashews alright. But what did they mean by the rest?

My views on the above and some…
Well the “loose” means that these were not pre-packaged. I’m trying to figure out the “ass”. Maybe they came from Assam??

😆 I guess it was meant to be …sold ‘as loose’ (as in not packaged as 52 gms) but then only the person who labelled it would know better!

It’s a loose assortment of Cashew nuts, probably. It seems like that’s an interesting abbreviation.

‘assortment’ – That’s probably it 🙂

Ass may mean assorted. Some will be whole nuts and others broken pieces. I bet they were good.

You are a keen observer. I would have just opened it and chowed down the nuts.

Rs 54, I guess about a dollar. India is getting expensive. Here a small bag 1.5 oz is about $1.50, go figure.

Dry fruits are always expensive. And this one was chocolate coated cashews…. Don’t even ask!

India is no more a bargain. Bad for Indians and really not a bargain for foreigners any more. Hotels in India are as expensive as NYC. In fact you can get a bargain in NYC, as low as 100 bucks during the off peak season.

Is it? Guess since we get used to the expensive living slowly we don’t see it as drastic except may be for steep increase in rates. But good to know of the bargains in NYC 🙂 might come in handy when I plan for my travels 😉

Yes…..You’ve got to be on the look out though. A few years ago a friend of mine got a room for 70 bucks at the Waldorf Astoria, I mean that is like spending a quarter. I wonder if you get the expression. It is like saying I got it for 25 cents.

I did not see the movie….It could have been. I think if you spend about 150 you could get a room.
How much is Taj in the South of India? I wonder. A few years ago I spent about 250
