I got introduced to Seinfeld through a friend. He always quotes from various Seinfeld episodes, that finally I gave up and started watching them from time to time. I am not a huge fan unlike him. I like these episodes just fine. Watching a Seinfeld episode totally depends on my mood. But, this week’s prompt reminded me of this episode where they talk about how ‘this’ should never be affected by ‘that’.
Post for this week’s Stream of Consciousness Saturday prompt.
Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is: “this and that.” Talk about this, talk about that, talk about this and that, but here’s the catch: make either “this” or “that” the first word of your post. Bonus points if you can end with “this” or “that.” Enjoy!

They both look so young. Cute. 🙂

We are so similar with our Seinfeld view – I am exactly like you so thx for saying this! I watched it because so many a folk quite it or refer to it – I actually used an analogy from the show while teaching once (night guy morning guy) yet never saw the full episode!
I tried watching a bunch of shows one year and it was fine – but not kids material with many sex jokes and whatnot – of course that is fine – but I think two pastors told me how great the show was so when the episodes with naked sunbather or phone sex or other sex things came up – I was surprised – but for the most part they were done with taste and really grabbed the jugular of the culture- which makes the show great! The social humor and the personal dilemmas are presented in each episode with great writing – and a fav was when Kramer was in LA saying you gotta do what you gotta do!
With that said – I deleted some of the episodes and had had enough! Sometimes I will record two – but never seem to get to them. So j am right there with you – a fan – but limited – and do appreciate the quality!
Great topic!

Thank you 🙂 I agree with you and funnily enough, the ones I watched seemed to suit the current time just perfectly fine! That speaks for the ideas and the writing.

yes – and shows how some social things are timeless.

I’m afraid I never “got” Seinfeld, I think it was a bit too American for me. Same with Curb Your Enthusiasm; I wanted to like it, but the comedy just didn’t appeal to me. Although I really liked Gary Shandling’s Show, which is odd I suppose, but there’s no accounting for taste and sense of humour.

I haven’t heard of the other shows. Since I am not big on TV series, I generally don’t watch any unless recommended by someone I know. As much as I was OK with Seinfeld from time to time, never got around to watching any other comedy series like Friends or Big Bang Theory which also came highly recommended. Wonder why.

Don’t bother, they’re both dreadful.
