Wall & Art – 23

“every portrait that is painted with feeling is a portrait of the artist, not of the sitter. The sitter is merely the accident, the occasion. It is not he who is revealed by the painter; it is rather the painter who, on the coloured canvas, reveals himself.”
― Oscar Wilde

If anyone knows who this portrait is based on, please do let me know. The only person who came to my mind was Fyodor Dostoevsky, but I am not very sure.

That’s really nice artwork. I could say it’s based on me but then you wouldn’t know if that were true or not. LOL 🙂

There isn’t enough revealed to determine who it is. Nicely done though.

I thought immediately of Fyodor Dostoevsky as well. Very striking!

Thank you 🙂 Glad to hear that someone else thought the same.
