Missing photographs

In the early days of my blogging in WP, I had used high res photographs which took up all of my free space. I ended up buying 10GB for 20$ a year to keep them up. I don’t think that to be a wise option anymore. So I stopped the renewal this year and have deleted those (as much as I could) photographs from my media library in order to allow me to upload low-res photographs. That means there would be some very old posts that would have missing photographs in them. I might have to do some cleanup of those posts, but I don’t have the time and energy at this moment to do it. I might do some over the long Christmas break if I am inclined to do so.

I am also trying to take a backup of this website. I have been here since 2013 and there are so many posts to download. I started the download yesterday and I am sure it will take me another whole day and a half to get that done. Changes are imminent, but when is the question. Until then, I am going to take one day at a time and do what I can do.

Thank you!

Got this notification today. 4 years already? Wonder how the time just flies by. And just in time for Thanksgiving weekend 😉

I take this opportunity to thank each and everyone who have been with me on this wonderful journey, who have inspired me,  who have taught me, who have supported and encouraged me and who have visited my site and left a mark in the way of comments/likes/visits. Like any journey, I have made friends here, missed people when they left the blogosphere, shared quips and jokes and what not 🙂 I am glad to be here at this moment and hope to be here for some more time.

Thank you! You are all a Star! Happy Blogging!

I did tell you folks that I am going to be taking part in Project H earlier this week. And guess what, my post was the first one to get published as part of the project. Woohoo!!! When I woke up this Saturday Morning, I was so thrilled to see the post published and the comments. Its been a long time since I started blogging. And its been quite a while since I started on WordPress. But everytime I participate in such projects and get to do something other than what I usually do at my blog (mostly photographs nowadays) it is very exciting and thrilling. I also have that small fear about how it would turn up. But once I get motivated to write, I just go with it. There is no right or wrong. It just is. I am eager to see other people’s posts about their ‘homes’. Its going to be an exciting month at HarsH ReaLiTy 🙂

Post for this week’s Stream of Consciousness Saturday prompt.

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is: “long.” Use the word “long,” any definition. Enjoy!

Guest Posting

OM has given me an opportunity to guest post in his WP site, again 🙂 Thank you once again, OM. It is always an honor for me to do guest posts on his site for such a large audience. My first post (Before I die) is up along with lots of other Guest Posts. Do feel free to drop in and check them out.

A thousand posts

According to the stats page, this post is going to be my 1000th post. So I thought I will commemorate it with a recap of a few of my favorite photographs that I have had the pleasure of posting in this blog which will also tell a few things about me through the picture and the quotes I had associated with them.  Although there are quite a lot, I am limiting to 5 of them and in no particular order.

1) From the post Woman

This was my Gravatar Profile for some time. It is from a painting I have at home. And except for the Indianized look and feel, it doesn’t represent me in any way.

“I am no bird; and no net ensnares me: I am a free human being with an independent will.”
― Charlotte Brontë, Jane Eyre

2) From the post Loneliness

From my Baralikadu photo’s. I loved how these two leaves stood alone in that tree.

“I am lonely, sometimes, but I dare say it’s good for me…”
― Louisa May Alcott, Little Women

3) From the post Hasta Lunes

I really loved the natural colors in this picture.

4) From the post Moved to Tears

One of my very very favorite photographs. Took this while on our way back from Wayanad Trip last year in August.

“The first stab of love is like a sunset, a blaze of color — oranges, pearly pinks, vibrant purples…”
― Anna Godbersen, The Luxe

5) And last but not the least, from my first post titled ‘Hope

I thought I should start the blog with a positive thing so I took this picture and used my favorite quote from Harry Potter as my first post in this blog. I never expected to be where I am now with respect to this blog if not for that teeny tiny thing called Hope.

“Happiness can be found in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light.” – Dumbledore from Harry Potter

I also take this opportunity to Thank each and every single follower, viewer and reader of this blog who have been a constant form of support and encouragement to me. Your views, your comments and your involvement means a lot to me and I have learnt a lot during my years of blogging and not to mention gain a few friends in the process. Once again Thank you all and Happy Blogging.
