K’lee and Dale’s Cosmic Photo Challenge: Selfie

If you have been following my blog you would know that I hate taking selfies, the traditional way. And every time I try, I end up clicking on ‘twooo’, which makes it very weird. I always let my friends do the honors if we are in a group. But that doesn’t mean that I don’t take some. I do and I have posted some of these already, but got back to them and edited them a little bit more and am using them for this week’s Cosmic Photography Challenge prompt.
This one was taken in Munnar this year when we went there for our 3 day trip. Not a great shot, but I like how it brought out my profile. I was using my Canon 70D for all of these photographs, so I had to make sure that my camera isn’t in the picture and even if it was, it added value to it.

This one was taken in the cottage we were staying in Cork, Ireland. This was the first time I was seeing such a fireplace and one that we got around to using it too. So I framed myself and had to place my camera so that it wasn’t in the way. Looks like I am burning or is it the fire in me 😉 ?

This one is my ever favorite. It was taken in Chikmaglur resort’s restaurant. The restaurant was overlooking the mountains and the view in the window was very beautiful. When I was walking by, I thought I could obscure myself in those tree leaves and tried to angle the shot in a way that the window framed my profile and that my profile is covered with those tree leaves. I absolutely love this one and am very proud of myself to get this shot well, at least to my standards.

If in case you aren’t aware, the pingbacks aren’t working for a lot of people. I know that Linda did mention about it a day before. Today is the usual photography challenge day and there is a message on their home page with more information on how to get around to it. Basically, just comment on their post with the link of your post. That’s pretty much it. I have also found that using the appropriate ‘tags‘ also helps. I, for one, tend to search for posts using tags. So don’t forget to tag your post with the appropriate tags when you are participating in any of these weekly challenges. And don’t forget to search using those tags too. Happy Blogging!

There have been some changes, like Sue’s weekly word challenge hasn’t been active for a while, Michelle’s Weekly Pet Challenge is on a break, Steve’s musicology has changed a bit but otherwise things are still on, I guess 🙂

I did have a list of the Photography related Challenges listed down so that when I feel like it I can participate. But didn’t think that posting it might actually help anyone because I am as much a newbie to this as are the others. But then when Ger asked me for the list yesterday I thought, irrespective of whether others already knew about it or not, it may help someone if I did publish them. Photography:

Cee has a couple of photography challenges. They are Odd Ball Challenge, B & W Challenge, Fun Foto Challenge and Which Way Challenge. You can check them out on her site. There are separate menu links for the same.

If you like playing with your photographs and doing editing and stuff like that, then Robyn’s One Four Challenge might be interesting.

You might like Michelle’s Weekly Pet Challenge, if you like taking photos of your pet(s).

Leanne Cole’s Monochrome Madness is a good one, if you like playing with your photographs, be it editing, or if you frequently like taking or editing your photographs in monochrome.

Sue does her weekly word based photography challenge, which is almost similar to Daily Posts’s Weekly Photography Challenge.

Writing:

If you wanna take part in some writing Challenges or prompts, you should check out Linda’s SoCS, hosted every Saturday (you will get your prompt by Friday evening) and JustJoJan, for the month of January only. ( I am gonna tag this post for the prompt )

If you like writing short fiction based on a photograph, then you can check out Al’s Sunday Photo Fiction. A similar prompt is done by RocNaNo using their Wordless Wednesday photographs.

The only one Music related prompt that I take part and I currently know of is Steve’s Cosmic Musicology. Its fun and I am yet to do my post for this week’s questions. If you listen to music and have a good collection of songs in your playlist, you might wanna give this a try.

SL-Week 3: Kezako

When I saw Sylvain’s challenge this week, I was intrigued. Well, the word is ‘Kezako‘ which means ‘what’s that’. Now I should post an image which would make you ask exactly that. So here it is.

Can someone guess ‘what’s that’ ?

It is a close up shot of something I own taken in a slightly different angle. I did edit it a little bit in DPP to give it an edge.
