let the words fall out

I missed last week’s prompt, because I saw it late and then didn’t have the energy to post anything at all. It almost went the same way today, but since I just finished my chores for the day and have some free time thought I will do it for sure today.
My song for this week’s song lyric Sunday is a well known song which became a kind of an anthem, I should say, for a lot of people. How many times you wish you were brave enough to say or do what you want to rather than feel or thing about what others would say about it. How many times have you thought that it would have been better if you were able to say it instead of that silence that did not convey anything at all. I know that I have felt it a lot of times especially when there are some unfair things that happen to us, to people we care, to a place where we live etc. Why don’t we do what we want to do when we know that it is right, especially when we know that it is the right thing? Because we are scared. Nothing wrong with that. We are humans. We are allowed to be afraid and scared. But as Neil Gaiman says “When you’re scared but you still do it anyway, that’s brave.” . Are we ready to ‘say what we wanna say and let the words fall out’ ?

Here is “Brave” by Singer/Songwriter Sara Bareilles

Lyrics from A-Z lyrics

You can be amazing
You can turn a phrase into a weapon or a drug
You can be the outcast
Or be the backlash of somebody’s lack of love
Or you can start speaking up

Nothing’s gonna hurt you the way that words do
When they settle ‘neath your skin
Kept on the inside and no sunlight
Sometimes a shadow wins
But I wonder what would happen if you

Say what you wanna say
And let the words fall out
Honestly, I wanna see you be brave
With what you want to say
And let the words fall out
Honestly, I wanna see you be brave

I just wanna see you
I just wanna see you
I just wanna see you
I wanna see you be brave

I just wanna see you
I just wanna see you
I just wanna see you
I wanna see you be brave

Everybody’s been there,
Everybody’s been stared down by the enemy
Fallen for the fear
And done some disappearing,
Bow down to the mighty
Don’t run, just stop holding your tongue

Maybe there’s a way out of the cage where you live
Maybe one of these days you can let the light in
Show me how big your brave is

Say what you wanna say
And let the words fall out
Honestly, I wanna see you be brave
With what you want to say
And let the words fall out
Honestly, I wanna see you be brave

And since your history of silence
Won’t do you any good,
Did you think it would?
Let your words be anything but empty
Why don’t you tell them the truth?

Say what you wanna say
And let the words fall out
Honestly, I wanna see you be brave
With what you want to say
And let the words fall out
Honestly, I wanna see you be brave

I just wanna see you
I just wanna see you
I just wanna see you
I wanna see you be brave

I just wanna see you
I just wanna see you
I just wanna see you
See you be brave

I just wanna see you (yeah)
I just wanna see you (oh ooh)
I just wanna see you

I just wanna see you
I just wanna see you
I just wanna see you

Posting it for this week’s Song Lyric Sunday.
Our theme for Song Lyric Sunday is to post a song you love that falls in the category of “singer/songwriter”. Some of my favorite songs fall into this category, so I’m hoping to find some new, great music in your posts.

Let’s do it!

I joined a new gym, much closer to home, from this month and as part of their process, they do an evaluation and tell you the kind of exercises, the frequency, etc would benefit you and of course they take your preferences into consideration too. It is a little high tech when compared to the one I was used to. But the best part is that I can use any facilities i.e. the gym, the classes, etc as many times I want and whenever I want. And given that it takes only 10 mins from my home it is a huge deal. No more traffic. And the walk to the gym is my warm up. This video couldn’t have come at the more appropriate time, I should say 🙂 I have done well with my health after gymming for almost 2 years. But there is a lot more to do. The list is ready (after a couple of assessments) and goals are set for the next 6 months. Now, Let’s Do It!

Welcome

Dark horses

Sometimes we do need a reminder that everything will be alright as long as we keep ourselves going on (and it is better if it was in the form of Music) Nothing lasts for ever, and that includes the pain too. One such song that I use when I feel a bit down is the Dark Horses from Switchfoot. So here it is, for this week’s Song Lyric Sunday.

Lyrics from A-Z Lyrics

Yeah

I made my mistakes
I seen my heart cave in
I got my scars
I been to hell and back again

Born for the blue skies
We’ll survive the rain
Born for the sunrise
We’ll survive the pain

[Chorus:]
We’re singing…
Hey, you can’t count us out
We’ve been running up against the crowd
Yeah, we are the dark horses
We’re singing…
Wait! It’s not over now
We’ve been down but we’ve never been out
Yeah, we are the dark horses

We found the way out
The city takes everything it can
But outside the crowds
I can feel my lungs again

Born for the blue skies
We’ll survive the rain
Born for the sunrise
We’ll survive the pain

[Chorus]

We’re singing
La la la la la la la
La la la la la la la.

Yeah!

Born for the blue skies
Born for the blue skies
Born for the sunrise
We’ll survive the pain

[Chorus:]
We’re singing…
Hey, you can’t count us out
We’ve been running up against the crowd
Yeah, we are the dark horses
We’re singing…
Wait, don’t care what they say
We know we’ll find a way
Yeah! We are the dark horses

Yeah!

Laa la-la-la-la-laa
Laa la-la-la-la-laa

[Faded Voice:]
Keep running with the dark horses
Hope makes the blood change courses
Keep running with the dark horses
Stand up with the dark horses
Keep running with the dark horses
Hope makes the blood change courses
