Saw a Phone scope at Waterstone today at an offer for around 3£ so decided to get one to try. Here is a photography of my dress in ultra close up. Only one downside is that the lens is part of the photo. Either it is built like that or I am doing something wrong. More experiments are in the queue. Good that I have got a week off for half term 😉

WPC: Experimental
We went to the London Mayor Fireworks last Saturday. It was preceded by a parade, which we missed except for the tail end of it. The fireworks started at around 5.20 and lasted for 15 mins. I tried to experiment with the way I capture them and to some extent, I did get a few good ones. Here are a few of them as part of this week’s photography challenge.
My Moon. Finally! (phew)
After a very long time and lots of trials, I got a decent photograph of the moon. I could still look at some more techniques to improve it and should have ideally got my spider tripod to get some more steady shots. But I had very less energy left after my Pilates workout. I wouldn’t have bothered if I hadn’t seen the moon on the way back from my workout. But once it showed itself to me in a cloudless sky, I just couldn’t let it go without trying for a shot using my zoom lens. It doesn’t look that huge over here in Bangalore. It probably is slightly bigger than usual, but that’s about it. Next time I will be prepared and try and get a much better shot of this lovely natural beauty. Good night, all!
Vintage
I was already having ideas about using my Pinhole lens and playing around with it more, because the last time I took a portrait, the focus wasn’t that good. So I wanted to practice it at home with my small items and see how they came out. And after more than a couple of weeks, I still hadn’t time to start on that. But when I saw Sylvain’s prompt for this week i.e. Vintage, I knew it was time 🙂 I took out my dad’s very old Agfa Isolette, which is broken and doesn’t work anymore. I told him that it was my inheritance 😉 and that I am not letting it go (because he was about to throw it in the bin 😯 )
So here is my attempt at pinhole images using my Holga pinhole lens. Had to use the flash and a bright light to get this effect and this was was exactly on my mind. Might seem a little bit overexposed, but I had this effect when I imagined it and I am happy with the end result too. I did have to process it a bit. And since I had to use the floor as my tripod, I think that helped too. I should remember to use my tripod here on with my pinhole lens.
