Oh dear!

It was just yesterday evening while on our way back from the Science Museum we were discussing how quirky and busy the Camden market always seems. There is never a dull moment there. We started our canal walk from there last weekend. It is just a 10 min walk from our flat. It was a shock to hear that in the early morning hours there has been a fire there which has almost burnt the whole thing down. Wonder what is with all these fires recently. It is hot, very hot actually, the summer finally showing its full intensity. But not that hot to start all these fires. Wonder what was the cause here. At least there hasn’t been any casualties. Fingers crossed. I kind of liked that place with its shops that sold quirky products. Mr M brought me a bracelet last year during our first visit. It was always crowded since it was one of the very popular tourist attraction. That place won’t be the same without that crowded yet popular market 😦

Love is a burnin’ thing

And it makes a fiery ring
Bound by wild desire
I fell into a ring of fire

I fell into a burnin’ ring of fire
I went down, down, down
And the flames went higher
And it burns, burns, burns
The ring of fire, the ring of fire

We haveĀ a three day weekend because of the Ugadi festival, so IĀ am visiting my folks. I am not sure if I will be able to blog over the weekend (I will try to, though) so I thought I will leave you guys with some photographs of the KalaripayattuĀ (Kerala’s age old martial arts…there is a discussion online as to which came first, Kung Fu or Kalaripayattu…but let us not get into that)Ā performance we had the pleasure to attendĀ during our stay in Munnar. This is my first visit to a Kalaripayattu and it was mind boggling. I was so much in awe of those people. It was an hour and a half performance. We were also able to go to the ring and take photographs with those warriors, posing like one (that is all I can afford to). Ā IĀ had a tough time filtering out the photographs to showcase their talents, because there were too many of them. I made sure to take some video’s too, but that will take a lot of time to process. So you might have to enjoy the photographs for now. Until next time, Happy Blogging and Be Safe šŸ™‚

SoCS: Me and my elements

I belong to the ‘Earth’ elementĀ according to my Astrological Sun Sign (Taurus) and may be because of that I sort of buy things which mostly have the earth color tone. Almost all my dresses look the same color.

I have a love-hate relationship with the ‘Water’ element, because I hate that I can’t enjoy it fully because I don’t know how to swim yetĀ I love any water body and would love to settle near the ocean.

I wish that the element of ‘Air’ ( the humidity part of it ) wouldn’t trouble me so much. I have been having trouble breathing and am functioning on almost 3-4 hours of sleep for the past week because of clogged sinus which is really a very irritating thing right now.

Fire (from the candles of course), is an element I love to photograph regularly in the confines of my home. I have so many pictures of candle light, of the flickering of the flames, of the long and beautiful shadows that they cast. Ā Ā

Post for this week’s Stream of Consciousness Saturday prompt.

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is: ā€œelement.ā€ Choose one of the four: air/water/earth/fire or use the word ā€œelementā€ however you wish to define it. Enjoy!
