I’m perfectly incomplete

Almost 70% of my playlist consists of songs which are quite upbeat and good beats and lyrics to which you can sing along. I use music to keep myself alert and awake 😉 Since I can listen to songs and do other tasks too, like driving, cooking, coding, etc. etc. etc. I make sure to listen to peppy numbers. When my mood is a bit dark, the same goes but may be more aggressively positive numbers would be played like ‘What doesn’t kill you’, ‘Brave’ etc. Since I have already posted those numbers on other occasions I will go with one among the huge list of songs I listen to. You will figure out why I use this song if you follow the lyrics and it is very hard to not like Jessie J 🙂 Aren’t we all work in progress?

Lyrics from A-Z Lyrics

So much pressure
Why so loud?
If you don’t like my sound
You can turn it down

I got a road
And I walk it alone

Uphill battle
I look good when I climb
I’m ferocious, precocious
I get braggadocious

I’m not gonna stop
I like the view from the top (yeah)

You talk that blah blah, that la la, that rah rah sh*t
And I’m so done, I’m so over it
Sometimes I mess up, I f*$% up, I hit and miss
But I’m OK, I’m cool with it

I still fall on my face sometimes
And I can’t colour inside the lines
‘Cause I’m perfectly incomplete
I’m still working on my masterpiece
And I, I wanna hang with the greats
Got a way to go, but it’s worth the wait
No, you haven’t seen the best of me
I’m still working on my masterpiece

Oh, oh
Oh, ah
Oh, oh
Oh, ah

Those who mind don’t matter
Those who matter, don’t mind
If you don’t catch what I’m throwing
Then I’ll leave you behind

Gone in a flash
And I ain’t living like that

They talk that blah blah, that la la, that rah rah sh*t
Roll with the punches, and take the hits
Sometimes I mess up, I f*$% up, I swing and miss
But it’s OK, I’m cool with it

I still fall on my face sometimes
And I can’t colour inside the lines
‘Cause I’m perfectly incomplete
I’m still working on my masterpiece
And I, I wanna hang with the greats
Got a way to go, but it’s worth the wait
No, you haven’t seen the best of me
I’m still working on my masterpiece

Oh, oh
Oh, ah
Oh, oh
Oh, ah

I still fall on my face sometimes
And I can’t colour inside the lines
‘Cause I’m perfectly incomplete
I’m still working on my masterpiece
Masterpiece, masterpiece (yeah)

I still fall on my face sometimes (still fall)
And I can’t colour inside the lines (inside the lines)
‘Cause I’m perfectly incomplete (perfectly incomplete)
I’m still working on my masterpiece (on my masterpiece)
And I, I wanna hang with the greats (oh, with the greats)
Got a way to go, but it’s worth the wait, no (wait, no)
You haven’t seen the best of me (b-b-best of me)
I’m still working on my masterpiece (I’m still working on my masterpiece)

Oh, oh (yeah)
Oh, ah (hey)
Oh, oh (still working on, still working on)
Oh, ah (still working on my masterpiece)

In the end

For this week’s song lyric Sunday, I am going to go with a rock song of Linkin Park. I am not a huge fan of rock genre, but from time to time I do like a song or an album. And one of my favorite bands is Linkin Park. I love this song for its lyrics. I cannot sing the rap part of it but I appreciate the words.

Lyrics from A-Z Lyrics.

In The End

It starts with
One thing I don’t know why
It doesn’t even matter how hard you try
Keep that in mind, I designed this rhyme
To explain in due time
All I know
Time is a valuable thing
Watch it fly by as the pendulum swings
Watch it count down to the end of the day
The clock ticks life away
It’s so unreal
Didn’t look out below
Watch the time go right out the window
Trying to hold on but didn’t even know
I wasted it all just to watch you goI kept everything inside and even though I tried, it all fell apart
What it meant to me will eventually be a memory of a time when…

I tried so hard
And got so far
But in the end
It doesn’t even matter
I had to fall
To lose it all
But in the end
It doesn’t even matter

One thing, I don’t know why
It doesn’t even matter how hard you try
Keep that in mind, I designed this rhyme
To remind myself how
I tried so hard
In spite of the way you were mocking me
Acting like I was part of your property
Remembering all the times you fought with me
I’m surprised it got so (far)
Things aren’t the way they were before
You wouldn’t even recognize me anymore
Not that you knew me back then
But it all comes back to me
In the end

You kept everything inside and even though I tried, it all fell apart
What it meant to me will eventually be a memory of a time when…

I tried so hard
And got so far
But in the end
It doesn’t even matter
I had to fall
To lose it all
But in the end
It doesn’t even matter

I’ve put my trust in you
Pushed as far as I can go
For all this
There’s only one thing you should know
I’ve put my trust in you
Pushed as far as I can go
For all this
There’s only one thing you should know

I tried so hard
And got so far
But in the end
It doesn’t even matter
I had to fall
To lose it all
But in the end
It doesn’t even matter

One or the other

One of my favorite songs because I fell in love with the lyrics when I first heard it. Since I keep listening to new songs on YouTube, other music blog posts or Soundcloud, I don’t usually remember the source. There are times when some song comes along at the very appropriate time and you are hearing almost the same words that run through your mind. The singer’s voice is so soft and full of emotions that it pulls you in.

Singer/Band: Lauv (or Ari Jeff)

Lyrics from MetroLyrics

Like a spotlight the water hits me
Ran it extra cold to shake the words from my mouth
Though I know that no one’s listening
I nervously rehearsed for when you’re around
And I keep waiting like you might change my mind

Who wrote the book on goodbye?
There’s never been a way to make this easy
When there’s nothing quite wrong but it don’t feel right
Either your head or your heart, you set the other on fire

Back and forth now I’m feelin’ guilty
Cause I just can’t stop this pendulum in my head
Though I know that our time is ending
I’d rather lay forever right in this bed

And I keep waiting like, you might change my mind
Give me one more night

Who wrote the book on goodbye?
There’s never been a way to make this easy
When there’s nothing quite wrong but it don’t feel right
Either your head or your heart, you set the other on fire

No one knows, knows, knows. No one knows, knows, knows.

We fell from the peak
And the stars, they broke their code
I’m trying to forget
How I landed on this road
I’m caught in between
What I wish and what I know
When they say that you just know

Who wrote the book on goodbye?
There’s never been a way to make this easy
When there’s nothing quite wrong but it don’t feel right
Either your head or your heart, you set the other on fire

No one knows, knows, knows. No one knows, knows, knows.

You set the other on fire. You set the other on fire.
