After Effects –  Part 2 😉

Nope, not the kind of after effects I was talking about yesterday. This after effect is related to photography 😉

Cosmic Photography Challenge’s theme this week is FreeStyle Effects. This photograph is a result of that. I used Snapseed and applied (let me see if I remember them correctly) Tonal Contrast, HDR Scape, Grunge and not in the same order to get this effect.

This is the original photograph, for your reference.

As you already know, I am lazy with photo effects and its takes some push to get me to do it. I hope that the one after effects is much better than the original one.

This was the photograph taken using my phone of the new ISKCON temple that is getting built in Kanakapura Road, Bangalore. It is supposed to be huge, but it is still in construction phase. So they have this small area where all the idols are kept and you are allowed to take photographs of them. In India, photography inside the temple is prohibited. Even the other ISKCON near Rajajinagar doesn’t allow photography inside the temple. So I took the advantage of the fact that they didn’t bother about it now.

K’lee and Dale’s Cosmic Photo Challenge: Futurism

This week’s theme of Futurism threw me in for a loop. Wasn’t sure how to actually picture it. So got around to playing with some of my photographs and again ended up doing a double exposure using Pixlr and got this photograph.1-futurism.jpg

This is a double exposure of a photograph of ‘The Hive’ taken at the Kew Gardens and another photograph of a shelter I took in Brighton’s Royal Pavilion. I was glad that those two photographs went well with each other. Looked like one of those machines you see in those alien movies ? or something close to that at least?

I wasn’t that convinced with the photograph to use it as is for the challenge. So used PhotoMania to create a couple more effects. These, I loved. Whether they represent futurism or not, I leave that upto you 🙂

OK, yeah I cheated a bit there 😉 The original photograph looks like this

1-IMG_0533-001.JPG

It was taken in one of the shops at Covent Garden. When I took the photograph, making sure that my reflection doesn’t spoil the image, I knew I would have to work on it a bit to achieve what I wanted this photograph to convey. I liked the effect (a bit of twiddling using Pixlr, of course) What do you think? 😀

Now you see me!

Well, not very clearly 😉 I love taking this kind of selfie, where I am visible, but not entirely. In fact, in this photograph, I have my friend too who just entered the room (totally unexpected) somewhere on the right-hand side of the photograph. But she is hidden too. I was trying to frame it in such a way that I will be between the floor and the roof and in between the window panes. But it came off a little bit towards the left with respect to the window panes. We were already getting late for a boating trip (which we missed anyway) so had to hurry up and then forgot about this altogether. Saw this when I was sorting the photographs. Should do better next time.
