K’lee and Dale’s Cosmic Photo Challenge: B&W Beach

During my recent trip to Chennai, I tried this long exposure shot in the beach. Since it was quite bright before the sunset, couldn’t use the bulb mode. So switched to Manual and tried it. Too many people around all the time. So had to pick up this small part where the two people on the left were static for some time (there is still one person who bought out that ghostly effect). Took that photograph and applied the b & w filter in Picasa and then applied the watercolor effect in Pixlr. Now it seems like some place from heaven?

K’lee and Dale’s Cosmic Photo Challenge: Reflections

For this week’s Cosmic Photography Challenge theme, I am using two photographs taken in a mall during the December of 2014. I have processed them using Picasa and have tried to give a different vibe to it.reflection1reflection2

My Experiments with P*

Linda’s SoCS prompt is into its third year Annual SoCS badge design Contest. So, I thought why not combine that with this week’s SoCS prompt and make it one post? I took a couple of my photographs and played with it using Pixlr and Picasa. Given my not-so-great interest in editing the photographs beyond the basic crop / enhance, it took me a while to get something sorted out. It took a couple of experiments to get something close to what I want. Looks like Photoshop is the best editing tool because for one particular change which I wanted I tried checking out which other tool would provide me the feature and every link pointed me to Photoshop. Since I don’t have one, I went ahead with what I can do with my limited creativity and free tools. Since we are allowed to submit only one for the contest, I am going to go with this one this year. Let me know what you think? And don’t forget to exercise your right to vote, when the voting lines open on Linda’s site 🙂

Photo Rehab Weekly Photo Challenge: Cover Makeover #4

I haven’t done much of these Cover Makeover challenges from Photo Rehab. But this week, I am gonna try it because I think I have the image for that in hand.

This is a photograph I took during my trip to Goa. Edited it a bit using GIMP to add some Oilfy and Van Gogh effects and used Picasa for my Texts and Borders.

What do you say ?

Red moon effect

This image is one of my favorites taken in Goa, of the St Augustine ruins. I liked how the tree formed a natural frame for that ruined building.

I haven’t done much on editing an image for quite some time (haven’t done much of anything for sometime now) so I thought, why not do this as part of my submission to the PhotoRehab participation. So I took the above image, added some tint and focus change using good ol’ Picasa to get a Red Moon effect to make it more eerie. Was I successful?
