I had already decided to do the Dechox challenge for the month of March. But since Lent is starting tomorrow (we had our pancake day yesterday evening), Mr. M suggested that I should try my first Lent and extend the dechox until the Easter. He promised to join me in that challenge (not that it is any big deal for him, coz dark chocolate doesn’t suit him anyways 😛 ) and also that he will get me my first Dark Chocolate Easter Egg on the Easter day to mark the end of this challenge. Now, all I have to do is to get through this 6 weeks. The penalty is 1 £ for every time we end up failing to do so.  It is going to be very very very tough. Wish me luck.

K’lee and Dale’s Cosmic Photo Challenge: Day into Night
While I was in Fort Bragg,California I happened to see this scene where the day was slowly turning into the night. So when I saw this week’s Cosmic Photography Challenge, I knew I was going to use this photograph. I did some editing using DPP and Pixlr but the essence of it remains the same.

K’lee and Dale’s Cosmic Photo Challenge: B&W Beach
During my recent trip to Chennai, I tried this long exposure shot in the beach. Since it was quite bright before the sunset, couldn’t use the bulb mode. So switched to Manual and tried it. Too many people around all the time. So had to pick up this small part where the two people on the left were static for some time (there is still one person who bought out that ghostly effect). Took that photograph and applied the b & w filter in Picasa and then applied the watercolor effect in Pixlr. Now it seems like some place from heaven?
I will let you be the judge of it 😉

K’lee and Dale’s Cosmic Photo Challenge: Futurism
This week’s theme of Futurism threw me in for a loop. Wasn’t sure how to actually picture it. So got around to playing with some of my photographs and again ended up doing a double exposure using Pixlr and got this photograph.
This is a double exposure of a photograph of ‘The Hive’ taken at the Kew Gardens and another photograph of a shelter I took in Brighton’s Royal Pavilion. I was glad that those two photographs went well with each other. Looked like one of those machines you see in those alien movies ? or something close to that at least?
I wasn’t that convinced with the photograph to use it as is for the challenge. So used PhotoMania to create a couple more effects. These, I loved. Whether they represent futurism or not, I leave that upto you 🙂
