Are you one of those who love to collect reward points in their credit cards and later redeem them for something useful? I do that for everything. Hotel stays, Frequent flyers, Credit cards, you name it. I love to accumulate points in them and use them later when need arises. While I was travelling frequently for work earlier I used to stay in the same hotel close to my office and I had registered with them as soon as I had landed the first time. And every stay earned me considerable points. All those accumulated points helped me stay in Hyatt in Hampi and use my points for my stay. I didn’t feel bad for staying in a 5 star hotel in India that way and the best part? I did not spend a single paisa from my pocket 🙂
I wanted a good sturdy suitcase for my recent travel and was feeling a bit apprehensive to shell out that huge amount to get a newly released model. So used up my credit card reward points to get a gift coupon and paid almost half of the cost through that. I am not obsessed with that. But I like to take advantage of the options that are already there.
While I was going through my old hard disk today, I found this saved in one of the folders. It was probably through an email forward (there wasn’t any WhatsApp 7 years ago). Why have I saved it? Your guess is as good as mine 😉 At least, it gave me a good chuckle.
Linda’s SoCS prompt is into its third year Annual SoCS badge design Contest. So, I thought why not combine that with this week’s SoCS prompt and make it one post? I took a couple of my photographs and played with it using Pixlr and Picasa. Given my not-so-great interest in editing the photographs beyond the basic crop / enhance, it took me a while to get something sorted out. It took a couple of experiments to get something close to what I want. Looks like Photoshop is the best editing tool because for one particular change which I wanted I tried checking out which other tool would provide me the feature and every link pointed me to Photoshop. Since I don’t have one, I went ahead with what I can do with my limited creativity and free tools. Since we are allowed to submit only one for the contest, I am going to go with this one this year. Let me know what you think? And don’t forget to exercise your right to vote, when the voting lines open on Linda’s site 🙂
I am never fond of Mondays. During the vacations, I hardly know which day is what. I lose track of time and day, which is such a break from the usual dreary feeling I have while working. And during my work days, I am never ever happy about Mondays.
Recently I saw a funny quote about it and I would like to share it with you 😉
I want to break up.
I am seeing Tuesday and
Dreaming about Friday.
Sincerely, It’s not me, it’s you…”
In real life, I look forward to Wednesdays and dream about Fridays.
