Long pending post of my photographs from the latest California trip. I am too lazy and consumed with other things, to even make an effort. But then better late than never. Here are some of the photographs of Fort Bragg’s Skunk Train station , which was unfortunately closed when I was there, and my trip to the Mendocino Botanical Gardens, which is a pleasure to walk, even if it takes around 2-3 hours minimum.

Clouds

Taken during my bay trail walk near Redwood Shores in California on the last day of my visit there, using my phone. Today’s cloudy weather in Bangalore reminded me of that day.
Point Arena Lighthouse
The Point Arena was my final lighthouse during this US Trip while on my way back from Fort Bragg. I wasn’t very sure if I will be doing it but then at the last minute didn’t want to miss a chance and since I was driving through the Highway 1, I thought ‘why not?’
This is the one where the First Order Fresnel Lens is seen and you can visit the top of the lighthouse, even though sometimes there might be a waiting time. For me, it was about 20-30 mins because there were some school kids waiting for their turn. The view from the top was awesome and I managed to see another whale (a bigger one actually) from the top. You have to pay some fees if you want to go in. Most people just parked outside of the gate and took pictures from there. Also this is the point where the San Andreas fault goes into the sea.

Mood ring
In Fort Bragg, I was upset that the Skunk Train that runs from Fort Bragg was cancelled because of maintenance work. So I went to the shop and got a mood ring (among other things for my nieces) for self. It came with a color chart which tells you which color indicates what mood. It was fun to see the changes in the color. I generally don’t buy any ornaments because I hardly wear them, but I wanted this one, just for fun.
As soon as I wore it for a few mins, it started to change color. Cool isn’t 😉
Point Cabrillo Lighthouse
When I was in Fort Bragg, I decided to visit this light house called Point Cabrillo which was within the city limits. Went there by around 3.30 pm and spent a while there. According to the lady there, who was so happy to receive a visitor from India on her tour of light houses, this one has the third order Fresnel lens where as the Point Arena (which was already in my list of to-visit places) has the 1st order Fresnel lens. There was this one squirrel who was roaming the place and gave me company during my visit there. I have tons of pictures of that little friend. I did hope to catch some whales, but they had already done their visits in the morning. Around 8 pairs were spotted during the first half of the day, according to the lady at the gift shop. Not my day to catch them I guess. But as usual, felt at peace and enjoyed the nature and the cold winds before I decided to head back after 6 pm.
