Miracle of lace

“Two Trees
A portion of your soul has been
entwined with mine
A gentle kind of togetherness, while
separately we stand.
As two trees deeply rooted in
separate plots of ground
While their topmost branches
come together,
Forming a miracle of lace
against the heavens.”
― Janet Miles, Images of Women in Transition

Posting it for SL-Week’s photography challenge for this week, which has the theme: Ground.

A year after

Its been a year since Sylvain started this weekly photograph prompt. He did leave the prompt open for all. But I am going with a photograph of the Happy Birthday card that I got this year from a very special friend.

Congratulations Sylvain 🙂 and I am happy to be part of this weekly photography prompt.

I see fire

Vintage

I was already having ideas about using my Pinhole lens and playing around with it more, because the last time I took a portrait, the focus wasn’t that good. So I wanted to practice it at home with my small items and see how they came out. And after more than a couple of weeks, I still hadn’t time to start on that. But when I saw Sylvain’s prompt for this week i.e. Vintage, I knew it was time 🙂 I took out my dad’s very old Agfa Isolette, which is broken and doesn’t work anymore.  I told him that it was my inheritance 😉 and that I am not letting it go (because he was about to throw it in the bin 😯 )

So here is my attempt at pinhole images using my Holga pinhole lens. Had to use the flash and  a bright light to get this effect and this was was exactly on my mind. Might seem a little bit overexposed, but I had this effect when I imagined it and I am happy with the end result too. I did have to process it a bit. And since I had to use the floor as my tripod, I think that helped too. I should remember to use my tripod here on with my pinhole lens.

Silhouette

Most of my selfies are in silhouette’s. I have already posted a couple of them 🙂 So for this week’s theme from Sylvain, I went through my photographs from Spain, because I remembered some silhouette from there . This one is from Montserrat. It was in a small room next to the place we see and worship the Virgin of Montserrat. The only reason I took this photograph was because of the two colored windows in the background which sort of gave a different feeling to the statue in the front.
