Bored!!!

When I am bored I love taking some quizzes , anything fun and not adding much pressure to my already exhausted brain. Sometimes, I turn to Buzz-feed for my fun quota. I was really bored during the second half of the work day and took some simple quizzes for fun.

1) Who Is Your “Game Of Thrones” Soulmate?

You know what I got ????

You got: Tyrion Lannister

When it comes to partners-in-crime, it’s brains and not brawn that matter, right? Like Tyrion, you’re sharp as a tack, and aren’t fooled by anyone. Have a large glass of wine, because you and Tyrion are meant to be buds for life.

Yay!!!! My favorite character 😉  Not sure about being soulmate, but yeah buds for life ? why not!

2) What Is Your Scottish Name?

Now, this I wasn’t very sure, because I didn’t know much of the places or the flowers or drinks…So the answer was quite random for the questions asked. And my answer was

You got: Fergus

Hi, your name is Fergus (Fearghas), which means “man-strength”. You are fit, you are strong, you are more powerful than they can possibly imagine.

Hmm… For a female, should it be Fergie ? Hell, whatever ? Sort of matches me to some extent I believe.

Do you wanna play them and let me know what you got ? Are there any other fun games you know of, to keep the boredom away ?

Quote Art

I like quotes and I like art, especially drawings/paintings and stuff like that. And I like the one’s where they combine both to create something new. I saw one like that in one of the restaurants sometime back and I did post about it. Recently I did see a few more in Twitter and would like to share the same.

From Game of Thrones, one of my favorite character is Tyrion Lannister (I think he is the favorite of a majority of people who follow the book and/or the series).  I do follow Tyrion Lannister on Twitter and just loved this picture that was posted there. I don’t tweet much, except to reply to some tweets, very very rarely. But I really wanted to share this and re-tweeted it.

The quote goes like this

“Let me give you some advice, bastard: Never forget what you are. The rest of the world will not. Wear it like armor, and it can never be used to hurt you.”

Have you seen/heard Taylor Swift’s ‘Blank Space‘ song? I love it. I was commenting about that song to my friends and told them that I just love the line where it goes like this

But you’ll come back each time you leave
Cause darling I’m a nightmare dressed like a daydream

I saw this image which was posted on Twitter (I don’t have the link now) but got redirected to the tumblr link (which I saved) and just loved it. It is such a very cool representation of that line. Don’t you think ?

Even though not represented in a drawing or image, the recent song from Jessie J (I really like her songs) called Masterpiece is my current hot favorite.

I have been singing this song continuously for past two days because I love love love these lines.

I still fall on my face sometimes
And I can’t colour inside the lines
‘Cause I’m perfectly incomplete
I’m still working on my masterpiece

And now, I wait …. (GoT spoilers)

Major Spoiler Alert for ‘Game of Thrones’ or ‘A Song of Ice and Fire’ series.

Finally, I finished the fourth season of Game of Thrones Series yesterday. Whoa! There were too many things happening there in this season. Here are my reactions to some of the scenes.

a) Tyrion’s trial: I almost cried when I saw Shae walking into the trial. Shucks man!!! I really thought they would leave her out of the story here. I felt so bad for him and when he gives everyone there a piece of his mind, I just wanted to go and hug him. It was like I was there personally to witness his pain. Well done Peter, very well done!

b) Jofferey’s death: Ah! What a scene. I might sound bad and evil for saying this, but I just enjoyed watching the scenes unfold 😉 as was the last scene

c) Bran’s detour. I thought the story was going somewhere different and was so scared for Bran. God ! that kid. But glad to have him back to the place where he is supposed to be finally.

d) Thank God for the new Daario Naharis. I am so glad that they replaced the old actor with this new one. Much better.

and finally,

e) even though I hated that he had a very short life span in the story, I just loved watching Pedro Pascal as Oberyn Martell. Wow.. that guy is really very good looking (and I don’t say that often). I always thought he did a stupid thing by being very emotional and stuff during the combat, but then the story needs a loser there, so its OK.

I was a little concerned when Brienne actually meets Arya because I thought how they were gonna handle that because she has to go to Braavos right ? But glad that even with those detours and stuff, they still managed to get the story back in place. This season, I think was the most action packed , be it in the Walls, the Drogon, confusion in the Lannisters family, Sansa’s change of heart etc etc.

And now after this, the wait begins. Its gonna be a very long wait 😦

imaginary vs the reel

Getting sick in the middle of the week has its own advantages I say. First, I got to work from home (even though one day I was too sick to work after half a day but still managed to complete the work) and second, whenever I went to take some rest I managed to watch some of the GoT episodes and voila! I completed watching the first season. I had watched almost 5 episodes last Sunday, so only five were left to watch over the week. Since I knew the story, some episodes were easier to watch and of course I wasn’t surprised by anything here, because it almost followed the book to the last word. It was a very neat adaptation in that aspect. No story here and so no spoilers. Just some of my thoughts about the first season. For me it was more of associating or even comparing the faces in the TV series to the faces I had imagined while reading them. I had seen the first episode of the first season sometime back (it was a long time back infact), so I knew some of the characters who appeared in the first season (not all, just some like Ned, Tyrion, Bran , Dany, Khal Drogo). The ones I knew were already there in my imagination while I was reading the book. But the rest , now that I have read about them in the span of 5 books this is what I felt.

Cersei wasn’t exactly the way I had imagined her in the book. I felt that she was too smug for that character and seemed too disinterested. The picture of her in my mind was a little more cunning and vile with a wicked smile.

Jofferey, I hated that character more and more as I saw this actor playing it. It was a very good choice of cast in the TV series. I wanted to say something here, but since I already said no spoilers I am keeping quiet.

Sansa Stark, one of the characters I didn’t like and yes, while reading she reminded me of Bella a lot from the Twilight series. But again the choice of the cast was good because this girl, no offense dear, really did look stupid enough (courtesy: her acting 😉 ) with all that star in her eyes and the teen drama and all.

I also liked Catelyn in the TV series. She is one who matched my imaginative Catelyn.

Jaime: Now is it just me or did anyone else find a similarity between this actor and the ‘Prince Charming‘ in Shrek 2 ? He reminded me of him so much. I was wondering why he felt very familiar. To be honest, he wasn’t as good looking as it was described in the book and my imaginative Jaime was a little bit better than him. At least it wasn’t as disastrous a portrayal as Edward in Twilight by Robert Pattinson. Thank God for small miracles. Since I am not a big fan of Jaime as such, he is OK.

Another interesting cast was Littlefinger. Now that guy really looked cunning (and looked good too). And way better than how I had imagined.

Varys: I thought Varys was supposed to be a little lithe and lean because he keeps crawling everywhere and all and was a little surprised to see the casting here.

Arya Stark: Perfect and matched my imagination.

The rest were all OK. It was like remembering back the important points in the book again. They could have done without too much sex though, at least in some place, even though the book is full of it and violence too. For e.g. the scene where Littlefinger is talking about his lost love, I know he needed a opening to reveal a little about himself, but I wouldn’t have imagined a scene as one that was shown.

Will have to start the second season next week sometime.

Awww man!!! WTH!

Spoiler Alert

Finally, I completed the 5th book in the A Song of Ice and Fire series:  Dance of the Dragons just an hour ago and I am still wondering what the hell happened. Actually the problem is that too many things happened in this book and I am yet to come to terms and I am 😡

Why? Why does he have to do that to Jon Snow? While reading I did feel that it was getting too good to be true. It’s GRRM’s fault that I am becoming more cynical. I even asked my friend if Jon Snow is going to be alive till the end. The only answer I ever get from him was ‘Just read! Why do you even ask I don’t know!’ And today when I finished that chapter where at the end Jon lay down in the cold with multiple stab bleeding and calling Ghost,  this is what happened. img4

And there was Dany whose fate was dangling but at least there was a closure to that. Poor Poor Quentyn and what the hell was he thinking… dragons are not dolls dear. And…..Reek oops Theon, that effing idiot. I don’t even know what to think. Did Bran forgive him when he saw him through that tree ? Is his penance done ? What is going to happen to Arya now ? Aegon again ! Whoa that was a BIG surprise actually. I hope he has some sense to follow Jon Connington. I should say I was a little happy when Cersei had to accept her sins and confess. But sad for losing Jaime. Finally , finally when I thought I would never hear about him, there comes Varys finally doing one thing I didn’t expect him to do. Man! too many plots, too many treacheries, too many surprises. My head is spinning.

Now I have to start watching the series.
